LATROBE, Pa. -- Buffalo Bills CEO Russ Brandon spoke to reporters following Thursday's joint practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here were his comments regarding the Bills' pending sale:

Q: What can you tell us about the [sale] process, your involvement, and where things stand right now?

Brandon: Well, what I can say unfortunately is pretty much what I've been saying, in that the process is ongoing. It's a private transaction. I'm not really at liberty to discuss it in any length or form. Like I said, it's a private transaction that we appreciate everybody -- we know the level of interest, but we also appreciate the private nature of this moving forward.

Q: Can you comment on how close it might be to its conclusion?

Brandon: I really can't at this point.

Q: Is it your hope that it can be completed by the owners' meetings in October?

Brandon: There's no timetable on anything. It's a process, and that's why we handed that to the investment bank and investment counsel, so we'll leave it with those fine firms, and stay tuned.
