Bills place Aaron Williams on IR

December, 27, 2013
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills placed safety Aaron Williams (ribs) on injured reserve Friday.

Williams had already been declared out for Sunday's season finale against the New England Patriots. He missed last Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins and did not practice this week.

To fill Williams' spot on the 53-man roster, the Bills promoted wide receiver Cordell Roberson from the practice squad. As we wrote earlier Friday, Roberson is a developmental prospect whose size -- he's 6-foot-4 -- could be appealing for the Bills.

Roberson is an undrafted rookie from Stephen F. Austin.
