Bills add Jeff Hafley to coaching staff

The Buffalo Bills hired Jeff Hafley as a defensive assistant, the team announced Thursday.

Hafley spent the past two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, serving as safeties coach for head coach Greg Schiano, who was fired last month.

The Montvale, N.J., native followed Schiano from Rutgers, where he coached in 2011. Prior to Rutgers, Hafley had stints at Pittsburgh (2006-10), Albany (2002-05), and WPI (2001).

Hafley played wide receiver at Siena College from 1997-2000.
