Bills release 2014 preseason schedule

The Buffalo Bills have a lot to prove following last year’s 6-10 record and last-place finish in the AFC East. Their 2014 journey starts in the preseason.

The NFL released its exhibition schedule on Wednesday, and here is the Bills' full 2014 preseason schedule:

  • Week 1 vs. Giants in Canton, Ohio (HOF game)

  • Week 2 at Panthers

  • Week 3: at Steelers

  • Week 4 vs. Buccaneers

  • Week 5 vs. Lions

The Bills are one of two teams with five preseason games this year. The extra exhibition work, because of the Hall of Fame game, could help young players such as second-year quarterback EJ Manuel, who started just 10 games last season.

Keep an eye on Buffalo's preseason finale against the Detroit Lions. It presents an interesting matchup for new Bills defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who will face his former team in the exhibition and regular season this year. Schwartz was head coach of the Lions from 2009-2013.
