Bills still mulling over EJ Manuel's injury
By Mike Rodak
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills quarterback EJ Manuel (knee) will be re-evaluated Thursday after practicing Tuesday, coach Doug Marrone said.
"He went out there today. He practiced. Again, I'm going to take a look again ... we have a day's rest," Marrone said. "He went there, he threw well. So we're just going to rest him a little bit and come back Thursday and see how his mobility is going."
The Bills do not practice Wednesday but will release their first injury report of the week. They do not have to reveal Manuel's participation in Tuesday's practice.
"Here's what we're going to do. We have a lot of stuff on tape. I'm going to go back ... it's a process. I'm going to talk to EJ. I'm going to talk to [offensive coordinator] Nate [Hackett]," Marrone said. "I'm going to look at the tape and see if I'm missing anything or what I'm seeing with the field with just my eyes."
Manuel did not play in Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins. If the rookie quarterback cannot start Sunday in New England, the Bills will turn to backup Thad Lewis again.
"It's fun. It's fun. Obviously when you have a chance to play, period, it's fun," Lewis said. "No matter how it comes, no matter how they dialed it up or they are going to do things. If you just stay ready, you shouldn't be worried about how your opportunity presents itself."
