NFLN survey/Super Bowl player: Bills
By Mike Rodak
For recently-retired tight end Tony Gonzalez, the clock has struck midnight on his chances of making the Super Bowl.
Gonzalez finished second in a recent ESPN.com survey of 320 NFL players who were asked, "Which player would you most like to see play in his first Super Bowl?" Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson edged out Gonzalez for the top spot.
While the Super Bowl drought for Peterson drags on, the Bills are now at 20 years without an appearance in the championship game, last playing in Super Bowl XXVIII in January 1994.
For players like Fred Jackson and Kyle Williams, who have both spent their entire careers with the Bills, they would be the natural choices for this survey.
Of the 320 players asked, however, none answered with Jackson or Williams.
