CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It's Black Friday, which means many of you will be hitting the malls for early Christmas shopping deals. For the Carolina Panthers, it could be Happy Friday if recent sales trends continue.
According to NFLShop.com, the official online store for the NFL, Carolina merchandise sales are up 111 percent since November 1 compared to last year.
The numbers are even better on Fanatics.com, the largest online retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise. Carolina sales are up 250 percent from November 1 last year, with fans from all 50 states purchasing Panthers' gear.
The growth ranks third in the league behind Kansas City and Seattle.
Quarterback Cam Newton, who has been a big reason for Carolina's seven-game winning streak, is a big reason. Sales for his No. 1 jersey are up 280 percent compared to last November.
