Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera and middle linebacker Luke Kuechly on Wednesday were named NFL 101 Awards winners.

Rivera was named the NFC Coach of the Year after guiding the Panthers to a 12-4 regular-season record and the NFC South title. Carolina won 11 of its final 12 regular-season games after a 1-3 start.

Kuechly was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league's second-ranked defense in tackles, including a 24-tackle effort against New Orleans in Week 16.

The winners will be presented trophies at the 44th annual gala on March 1 in Kansas City.
