Williams wouldn't object to move to left tackle

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chris Williams is by no means publicly lobbying for a move back to left tackle, but if the Bears ask Williams to flip sides, the former first-round pick would have no objections.

"I don't think it would be a significant difference," Williams said. "I've played there for awhile, so re-adjusting back to the other side would take some extra practice reps. But it would be fine.

"When we drafted Chris, we didn't draft him thinking he would play right tackle," Bears coach Lovie Smith said. "We drafted him as a left tackle. The plan was for someday to put him back there, after we brought Orlando [Pace] in this year."

Williams started 24 games at left tackle during his last two years at Vanderbilt.
