CHICAGO -- Sunday's victory over the Rams was far from memorable, unless your name is Earl Bennett.
The Bears' second-year receiver caught his first career NFL touchdown pass on a 3-yard reception from Jay Cutler in the third quarter.
"We worked that play several times in practice," Bennett said. "Jay is a great quarterback who always goes through his progressions and finds the open guy."
Cutler and Bennett also hooked up on a 71-yard completion, which Bennett ultimately fumbled out of bounds.
"That's (securing the football) something I definitely needed to do on that play," Bennett admitted. "I just have to learn from it and do it better next time."
But at least Bennett got to keep the ball from his score.
"Oh yeah, I got it with me over here," Bennett said with a smile in the postgame locker room.
Bennett is now second on the Bears in receiving yards with 599, and fourth in receptions with 45.
