LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- After recent comments by Devin Hester, Lance Briggs and Olin Kreutz, the Bears were probably smart to avoid the topic of Lovie Smith's job security on Monday.

Alex Brown: "I'm not talking about coach Smith and his job. I'll talk about the Vikings and the team. That's it."

Rashied Davis: "I'm not answering any questions about any coaches."

Kevin Payne: "I really don't have anything to say about that. I'm just concentrating on getting a win against the Vikings right. That's it."

Earl Bennett: "I don't read the papers, and I don't watch television that much. I really don't know what's going on. I just go out and play football. That's it."

Sounds like the message given to the players was to only talk about Minnesota, and not say a word about the head coach. Just a guess.
