FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- At least somebody is making some news today.

Bad weather forced the New Orleans Saints to push back the start of their practice, so the herd of media members at the Miami Dolphins practice facility in South Florida are milling around with nothing to do.

Unless you care about Mike Martz and the Bears.

"Even though I've never worked with Mike Martz, I'm in favor of the Bears hiring anybody that can get us back on the right track, and hopefully back to a Super Bowl," Bears tight end Desmond Clark told ESPNChicago.com. "Mike Martz has a great track record, and I'm excited to see how this offense could grow in 2010."

Many of us are just excited this search is over. Word is Martz and Bears quarterback Jay Cutler had a very productive meeting a few days ago in Nashville, and the new Bears offensive coordinator is excited to begin working with his star pupil. There was also rumored to be a potential rift between Martz and new offensive line coach Mike Tice, but for the time being, those concerns have been alleviated.

Notice I said for the time being.

Either way, this is going to be a memorable season at Halas Hall. Let's hope it's for all the right reasons.
