Forte earns NFC offensive player honors

Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte was named the NFC offensive player of the week after gaining 201 yards – including 50 rushing – and catching two touchdown passes in a 19-14 win over the Detroit Lions.

Forte caught touchdown passes of 89 and 28 yards. His 151 receiving yards were the second-most by a running back in franchise history.

It’s the first such award for Forte.
