LAKE FOREST, Ill -- Expect to see an increased workload for Chicago Bears' running backs Matt Forte and Chester Taylor after the bye week, according to Bears head coach Lovie Smith.
Dennis Wierzbicki/US PresswireChester Taylor said he'll wait and see if the Bears actually do use him and Matt Forte more often.
"We need to run the ball more, no doubt about that, and not just run the ball, we need to get those two guys involved more," Smith said. "I like what we've done with our screen game, but [we need to] just get the ball in our playmakers' hands, and those are two of them."
Through seven games, the Bears have attempted 215 passes, while Forte and Taylor have combined for 134 rushing attempts.
"All we can do is wait and see and take their word for it," Taylor said. "We just got to wait until the game time to see if that's really going to happen."
"We've got to get them in the game more together," Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz said.
"Of course, me and Matt want to do all we can to help our team win," Taylor said. "Of course, we always want the ball, but we just have to go out there and do as the play is called. We want our best players on the field, and I believe we could catch the defense off guard with that [two back set]."
