CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bears finally registered a pulse in the second half, scoring their first points of the game on Chester Taylor’s 1-yard run with 8:43 left in the quarter.

But the score came after the New England Patriots had already run up the score to 36-0 on Shayne Graham’s 29-yard field goal at the 11:01 mark.

Kickoff returner Devin Hester gave Chicago possession at the New England 30 on the ensuing drive after the field goal with a 61-yard run return. Taylor scored six plays later to cap a drive that used up 2 minutes, 13 seconds of clock.

By the end of the quarter, the Patriots held a time-of-possession advantage of 27:22 to 17:38 and a 402-115 edge in yards.

Jay Cutler, who has just completed eight passes all game, closed the quarter by throwing an interception to Gary Guyton, which gave the Patriots possession on their own 29.
