LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The addition of Wisconsin offensive tackle Gabe Carimi filled a major need for the Chicago Bears on Day 1 of the NFL draft, but there are still several positions the they could target in the second and third rounds on Friday.

The Bears could use Day 2 to target perhaps their second greatest need: the defensive line. Many quality defensive tackles remain on the board, including North Carolina's Marvin Austin, Oregon State's Stephen Paea, Iowa's Christian Ballard, USC's Jurrell Casey, USF's Terrell McClain and LSU's Drake Nevis. General manager Jerry Angelo is looking for a defensive tackle with the ability to play in the rotation at the under tackle or three-technique position, especially since the organization released former Pro Bowler Tommie Harris in the offseason.

"It'll be a challenge [Friday], much more than it was today," Angelo said Thursday night. "[Thursday] we knew there were going to be a lot of quality players on the board. [Friday] it's going to be much tougher than it was [Thursday]. We certainly have players we like very much but not the numbers. In any draft you have to have some luck."

Angelo might decide to select a cornerback at either No. 62 or No. 93, a position the Bears could use some depth at considering veteran Charles Tillman's age and the uncertainty at the other cornerback spot where Tim Jennings and Zack Bowman both saw time in 2010.

A few cornerbacks to consider include: Louisville's Johnny Patrick, Virginia's Ras-I Dowling, Buffalo's Joshua Thomas, Clemson's Marcus Gilchrist, Texas' Curtis Brown, Utah's Brandon Burton and USC's Shareece Wright.

"We'll have some options [on Day 2]," Angelo said. "We're not fixated on a position. There are several players that we like. We are just really fixed on taking players we like, that we spent time with, that we feel can come in here and help our football team win. We're not basing it off perception, or trying to get cute. You can't do that in this kind of draft."

Other areas of need could be linebacker, defensive end, wide receiver and quarterback.
