Spaeth new addition to injury report

September, 28, 2011
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears receiver Earl Bennett (torso), right tackle Gabe Carimi (knee) and tight end Matt Spaeth (calf) did not participate in practice on Wednesday at Halas Hall.

Carimi and Bennett were hurt in the Week 2 loss at New Orleans, but Spaeth's calf ailment was a new addition to the injury report.

"Don't know how bad it is, he wasn't able to do anything today," Bears coach Lovie Smith said about Spaeth.

Safety Chris Harris (hamstring), running back Marion Barber (calf) and safety Major Weight (head/neck) all had full participation.

"That's exciting," offensive coordinator Mike Martz said of Barber practicing. "He's a power runner. We saw him in the preseason and liked who he was and what he was doing. We are getting some of these guys back. It will help us."

Long snapper Patrick Mannelly was limited with a hip injury.

Right guard Lance Louis and wide receiver Roy Williams did not appear on the injury report.
