CHICAGO -- Free agent running back Michael Bush is visiting the Chicago Bears on Wednesday, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. He also is scheduled to visit the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday.
Bush has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Oakland Raiders. He rushed for 977 yards on 256 carries with seven touchdowns in nine starts last season.
The Bears' interest in Bush serves as another indication the club is expected to part ways with veteran running back Marion Barber, who served as Matt Forte's primary backup in 2011. It's unclear if Forte plans to attend the Bears offseason workouts after he was slapped with the franchise tag that will pay him roughly $7.7 million in 2012 if the two sides fail to reach an agreement on a long-term deal.
On Monday, the Bears placed a tender on restricted free agent running back Kahlil Bell worth $1.26 million. Bell is free to explore the market for a better offer, but the Bears will have the ability to match any offer sheet placed on Bell.
