LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears special teams coordinator Dave Toub accepted responsibility for the club's failure to stop Green Bay's fake field goal attempt last week that resulted in a 27-yard touchdown.

With 1:56 left in the first half and the Packers facing fourth-and-26, the Bears loaded up to block the potential field goal attempt but were caught off guard when Green Bay holder Tim Masthay received the snap and pitched the ball to tight end Tom Crabtree who followed his blockers to the end zone.

That score put Green Bay in front 10-0 going into halftime, a deficit the Bears were never able to overcome.

"What we are going to do better next time, and really it was my fault, is to make sure if they run a fake that we are dialed in and stop it," Toub said Thursday. "No matter what we have called we need to stop it. We had the block called at the right time, we just didn't execute against the fake as well as we would have liked. We've worked on it since then, we just weren't dialed into the fake at that situation. Our mindset was to go after it and it was a gutsy call, a good call by them and they executed the play well."
