Rodriguez out with knee injury

CHICAGO -- Chicago Bears rookie fullback Evan Rodriguez has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's contest against the St. Louis Rams after he suffered a knee injury on the game's opening kickoff.

Rodriguez, the Bears 2012 fourth round draft choice out of Temple, is considered a valuable contributor on special teams and an above average blocker on offense.

Second-year tight end Kyle Adams has assumed Rodriguez's role in the Bears' base offense.

Rodriguez started 28 games at tight end for Temple between 2009-11 where he caught a combined 69 passes for 871 yards and seven touchdowns.
