LAKE FOREST -- Jason Campbell beat out Jay Cutler on Tuesday morning, but it won't affect playing time for either Chicago Bears quarterback.

Cutler bet Campbell that he wouldn't last three miles on a treadmill, and Campbell took the wager and won Tuesday morning.

"I took it down," Campbell joked after practice. "I got up there and did it. He was surprised when I was done ... He was like ‘You don't even look tired.'"

Cutler referenced the wager Monday on "The Jay Cutler Show" on ESPN 1000.

"He claims that he can run three straight miles on the treadmill and I say absolutely not," Cutler said Monday. "I think at about 1.8 (miles) he'll shut it down. Back will tighten up or something."

Campbell proved him wrong. It turns out the two quarterbacks are constantly challenging each other.

"We have a fun quarterback room," Campbell said. "We try to keep it entertaining because our job is sometimes monotonous. We sit in the room and try to come up something that will be fun.

"We have others (challenges) coming up. He was already trying to get me to do something else before we got to the locker room. He's like, 'Alright you won that one, let's see about this next one.' I told him I have a 48-hour rule. I need to rest up for this."

One bet that will take place comes when Vanderbilt plays Auburn on Oct. 20. Campbell attended Auburn while Cutler played for Vanderbilt.

"Vanderbilt plays Auburn coming up soon," Campbell said. "We'll see. I might make him wear an Auburn sweat suit for a day or something. We'll come up with something."

And what did Campbell win for running three miles on Tuesday?

"Um," Campbell replied. "We can't talk about it."
