The Chicago Bears signed quarterback Matt Blanchard and wide receiver Terrence Toliver to reserve/future contracts on Monday.

Blanchard earned an invitation to Bears training camp last summer after he attended the team's rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. He failed to make the 53-man roster but spent a good portion of the 2012 season on the Bears practice squad.

Blanchard, a Lake Zurich, Ill., native, played at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. With veteran backs Jason Campbell and Josh McCown both free agents, Blanchard might be given a chance to compete for one of the reserve quarterback spots next season.

Toliver went undrafted in the 2011 NFL draft out of LSU and has been with the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions the past two summers.
