Tillman vomited on the sideline at least twice before the staff pulled the cornerback out of the lineup in favor of veteran Zack Bowman. Tillman’s exit came at an inopportune time for the Bears, with the Bengals in the midst of an eight-play drive spanning 91 yards and capped by a 45-yard touchdown pass from Andy Dalton to A.J. Green that helped the visitors go ahead 14-7 with 2:53 left in the first half. Rookie Isaiah Frey also played in Tillman’s place during the drive.
Up to that point, Tillman had intercepted Dalton twice.
Tillman re-entered the game to start the third quarter, and was called for a 34-yard pass interference penalty that moved Cincinnati from the Chicago 35 to the 1, setting up a BenJarvus Green-Ellis TD that gave the Bengals a 21-17 lead after the extra point.
