LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- "Twice a year, I'm going to peel the back of his head off the turf. I love the guy, but business is business."
-- Minnesota defensive end Jared Allen upon learning that Jay Cutler was traded to the Bears during an appearance on Westwood One radio.
Allen has made a habit of peeling quarterback's heads off the turf, recording 10.5 sacks this season. But those numbers are routine for the Pro Bowl defender, who registered 14.5 sacks during the 2008 regular season, 4.5 of those coming versus the Bears.
How did Cutler respond to Allen's remarks?
"I'm not going to peel anything off," Cutler said. "I've played against Jared before, when he was in Kansas City. Good player, high motor, (who) brings a lot to that defense off the edge. He's a really good player."
That's an understatement.
