Gould: No protest in works
By Jeff Dickerson
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears do not plan to file a formal protest regarding to playing surface at TCF Bank Stadium, according to Bears NFLPA player rep Robbie Gould.
"I've heard about this. There is no protest, there will be no protest," Gould said. "The bottom line is that as players, we want to make sure it's a safe environment to play in. As long as the environment is safe, and the conditions of the field are safe, then obviously, the show must go on."
A Bears spokesman confirmed that there will be no protest filed by the team.
"We’re working with the NFL and Vikings to make sure the playing field is safe for the players on both teams," Bears' Senior Director of Corporate Communications Scott Hagel told ESPNChicago.com.
The Bears are preparing to brave elements outdoors Monday night, although players have still not been officially told the game will be in Minnesota.
