Safeties part of Bears' walking wounded
By Michael C. Wright
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears completed practice Tuesday in preparation for Friday's matchup against the New York Giants with six players out because of injuries.
"We have a few guys banged up," coach Lovie Smith said. "I think most of you know about them. They're all getting better; can't give you updates really, except for everyone is getting better."
The team held out linebackers Brian Urlacher (knee) and Dom DeCicco (groin) along with safeties Chris Conte (shoulder) and Brandon Hardin
(neck) as well as punter Adam Podlesh (hip) and defensive tackle Stephen Paea (ankle). It's unlikely the club plans to make any of those players available to play against the Giants.
In other news, the Bears waived/injured DT DeMario Pressley.
