BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears waived punter Richmond McGee and defensive tackle Sean Murnane on Monday.

The Bears signed McGee to a two-year contract in February. He spent parts of last season on Chicago's practice squad, and he was with the Bears during the offseason and 2009 preseason, averaging 36.3 yards on four punts while landing two inside the 20.

A member of Texas' 2005 national championship team, McGee entered the league as an undrafted free agent with Philadelphia in 2008.

Murnane was an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan.

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bears have signed punter Richmond McGee in the event a groin injury prevents veteran Brad Maynard from kicking Monday night versus the Minnesota Vikings.

Maynard is officially listed as questionable.

McGee -- who will wear jersey No. 10 -- is eligible to play against the Vikings.

To make room for McGee on the 53-man roster, the Bears placed defensive end Adewale Ogunleye on injured reserve.
