The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Calgary Flames 4-1 after two periods at the United Center.

Not a lot was happening in the middle 20 minutes until the Hawks exploded for two goals late to pad a 2-1 first intermission lead.

A power-play tally by Brian Campbell after some extended time in the offensive zone pushed the lead to 3-1. A little over a minute later, Jonathan Toews received a pass from Michael Frolik, went around a defender and scored his second of the game and fifth in three.

Viktor Stalberg and Mark Giordano got into a fight late in the period. It was Stalberg’s first fight of his career.

The Hawks dominated the final five minutes of the second.
