Streaking-Slumping: Toews finding net

STREAKING

Streaking
Toews
1. Jonathan Toews: Named the third star in the league last week, Toews has taken off. He's found his scoring touch, claiming the team lead in goals with nine. He's producing from mostly in and around the net. His impressive balance with the puck gets him offensive chances, and he's moving without the puck to get open. Toews' production probably doesn't take off without the addition of Marian Hossa to his line though. Viktor Stalberg is also benefiting from Hossa, but it's Toews who's put up the points with six in just the last three games. Hossa is right behind with five.

2. Steve Montador: Three goals in his last three games -- his first three as a Hawk -- says it all. Montador was tapped as a desperate move to play in the slot on the power play and he hasn't disappointed. He hadn't taken a regular shift there in several years but the Hawks wanted a right-handed shot in that area and they got a crafty one in Montador. To add another layer to his 'streaking' status, he made a move from the blue line to the net on Sunday to score. It's a move that would have made most forwards jealous. Defense is still his priority, but the Hawks have been looking for offense from their back-end and Montador has provided it.

SLUMPING

Slumping
Frolik
1. Michael Frolik: For the team with the most points in the league individual slumps are relative. Frolik hasn't been bad, far from it. But while he was at least getting offensive chances just a while ago, now those have seemingly dried up. Unable to finish on several great opportunities his confidence may have taken a hit after getting a short lived chance to play on the Hawks top line. He has one point in his last seven games but still plays his role on the Hawks' checking line well.

Slumping
Bickell
2. Bryan Bickell: His name has appeared on the score sheet just once in his last 12 games played. In the middle of that run he was a healthy scratch. He started the season both noticeable with his physical play as well as his production -- he had points in four straight games after the season opener. But that's a distant memory. Like Frolik, Bickell could be missing regular center man Dave Bolland, who's injured, but that only accounts for the last three games of his slump.
