PITTSBURGH -- Day 2 of the 2012 NHL draft for the Chicago Blackhawks was about getting variety. General manager Stan Bowman wanted to "round out" his "depth chart" after selecting highly skilled Finnish forward Teuvo Teräväinen in the first round on Friday.
"We were able to accomplish what we wanted," Bowman said after the draft. "We got a mixture of different positions, different style players. We got some skill, we got some size, we got a couple of goaltenders."
In all, the Hawks drafted four forwards, two defensemen and two goalies during the seven-round, two-day event.
