CHICAGO – Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Ray Emery will start Friday against the San Jose Sharks and will be backed up Corey Crawford, coach Joel Quenneville said.

Goaltender Henrik Karlsson was reassigned on Friday. Karlsson was recalled from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL on Feb. 14. Karlsson did not play during his stint with the Blackhawks.

Crawford has missed the Blackhawks’ last three games due to an upper-body injury. He is 7-0-3 with a 1.65 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage this season.

Emery will be making his fourth consecutive start. He has a 6-0-0 record with a 2.27 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage this season.
