The Chicago Blackhawks assigned forward Brandon Bollig to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL on Wednesday.

Bollig has been with the Blackhawks all season, appearing in 11 games and recording 40 penalty minutes.

Bollig has often taken turns with forward Jamal Mayers as a healthy scratch this season. Bollig played predominately on the fourth line. He last played in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild and was on the ice for 4:59.

The Blackhawks have not announced a corresponding move.
