The Chicago Blackhawks announced Saturday defenseman Viktor Svedberg has signed a two-year contract.

The 22-year-old Svedberg had previously been under contract with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Svedberg will remain with the IceHogs. He has one goal and one assist in five games with the IceHogs this season.

The 6-foot-8 Svedberg is the tallest player in the Blackhawks’ organization. He participated in the Blackhawks prospect camp the past two years and appeared in six preseason games for the Blackhawks this season.

Svedberg previously played in the Swedish Hockey League from 2009-2013.
