Hawks prospect watch: Teravainen rolling

10/24/2013

Here are some updates on how Chicago Blackhawks' prospects are doing throughout the world:

Teuvo Teravaien, forward, Jokerit (SM-liiga in Finland)

Teravainen, the Blackhawks' 2012 first-round pick, broke out of his offensive slump in Jokerit's past two games. After having just two points through nine games, he dished out three assists in Jokerit's 4-2 win over HIFK Helsinki on Friday and had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over KalPa Kuopio on Tuesday.

Joakim Nordstrom, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)

Nordstrom, a 2010 third-round pick, hasn’t played for the IceHogs since being sent down from the Blackhawks due to a lower-body injury. Nordstrom was assigned to the IceHogs on Sunday after appearing in the Blackhawks' first eight games. The IceHogs are hopeful he will play this weekend, according to a team spokesperson.

Vince Hinostroza, forward, Notre Dame (NCAA)

As a freshman, Hinostroza leads the Fighting Irish with six points, which includes three goals and three assists, after four games. Hinostroza, a 2012 sixth-round selection, had two goals and an assist in Notre Dame's 7-3 win over Michigan Tech on Sunday.

Kyle Beach, forward, HV71 (SHL in Sweden)

Beach, a 2008 first-round selection, isn't a stranger to penalty minutes. After compiling 204 penalty minutes last season with the Rockford IceHogs, he’s already had 35 penalty minutes through seven games in Sweden. A bulk of them did come in Wednesday's game against Farjestad when he was given 27 penalty minutes for a game misconduct (20 minutes), boarding (five minutes) and roughing (two minutes). He also has one goal and two assists on the season.

Jermey Morin, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)

Morin, who the Blackhawks acquired in a trade, provided the game-winning goal to defeat the Toronto Marlies 3-2 on Wednesday. He has a team-high 34 shots on goal and is tied for a team-best four goals on the season. He has had a shot on goal in a team-record 135 consecutive games dating back to Nov. 9, 2011.

Adam Clendening, defenseman, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)

Clendening, a 2011 second-round pick, contributed an assist in Wednesday's win over the Marlies. He leads the IceHogs with 10 points, which includes eight assists. He's produced a point in seven of the team's eight games.

Kevin Hayes, forward, Boston College (NCAA)

Hayes, a senior, had a goal and two assists in Boston College's 9-2 win over Wisconsin on Friday. Hayes, a 2010 first-round pick, has two goals and four assists through three games.

Mark McNeil, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)

McNeil, a 2011 first-round pick, scored two goals and had an assist in the IceHogs' 5-4 loss to the Hamilton Bulldogs on Tuesday. He has four goals and three assists in eight games.

Terry Broadhurst, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)

Broadhurst, a free-agent signing, is riding a four-game points streak. He’s compiled three goals and four assists in the past four games.

Tyler Motte, forward, Michigan (NCAA)

Motte, a freshman, scored the game-winner in overtime to lead Michigan to a 3-2 win over New Hampshire on Saturday. Motte, a 2013 fourth-round pick, is tied for the team lead in goals with three in four games.

Dillon Fournier, defenseman, Rouyn-Noranda (LHJMQ in Canada)

Fournier, a 2012 second-round pick, had two assists in a 5-3 win over Halifax on Saturday. He has three goals and five assists in 14 games this season.
