Here is our weekly update on how some of the Chicago Blackhawks' prospects are doing this season:
Adam Clendening, defenseman, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)
Clendening has brought consistent offense to the IceHogs all season. He’s registered points in 10 of 14 games. He scored a goal in the IceHogs’ 6-2 loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday. He has three goals and 10 assists on the season. He also has a plus-3 rating.
Mac Carruth, goaltender, Toledo Walleye (ECHL)
Carruth should probably be up in Rockford, but he’s down in Toledo due to numbers. He’s showcased his talent in the ECHL and has a 3-2-0 record with a 2.18 goals-against average and .931 save percentage this season.
Justin Holl, defenseman, Minnesota (NCAA)
If anyone is looking for something to do this weekend, Blackhawks prospect Justin Holl and top-ranked Minnesota are playing No. 4 Notre Dame and Blackhawks prospects Stephen Johns and Vincent Hinostroza in South Bend, Ind. on Friday and Saturday. Minnesota is 5-0-1, and the Fighting Irish are 6-2-0.
Kevin Hayes, forward, Boston College (NCAA)
Hayes, a senior, accumulated one goal and two assists in Boston College’s two wins over Northeastern last weekend. He is second on the team with nine points, which includes three goals and six assists, in seven games. Boston College is ranked No. 8 and has a 4-2-1 record.
Matt Tomkins, goaltender, Ohio State (NCAA)
Tomkins, a freshman, stopped 39 of 41 shots in Ohio State’s 4-2 win over Minnesota-Duluth over the weekend. He is 4-3-0 with a 3.04 goals-against average and .901 save percentage on the season.
Antti Raanta, goaltender, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)
Raanta and the IceHogs have hit a rough patch after playing well at the end of October. Raanta has allowed 10 goals in his last three starts. He gave up four goals on 20 shots and was pulled early in the second period against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday. He’s 5-4-0 with a 3.02 goals-against average and .911 save percentage on the season.
Dillon Fournier, defenseman, Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (QMJHL)
Fournier added to his numbers with a goal and an assist in the Huskies’ 6-1 win over the Quebec Remparts on Saturday. He has seven goals, eight assists, 36 penalty minutes and a plus-19 rating in 17 games this season.
Travis Brown, defenseman, Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL)
Brown continues to be a threat offensively for the Warriors. He leads them with 16 assists and 22 points. He also has a minus-7 rating.
Ryan Hartman, forward, Plymouth Whalers (OHL)
Hartman leads the Whalers with 19 points, which includes nine goals and 10 assists. He also has a minus-14 rating and 30 penalty minutes in 17 games.
Anthony Louis, forward, Miami Ohio (NCAA)
Louis, a freshman, had a goal and an assist in the RedHawks’ 5-2 win over Canisius on Saturday. He has three goals and three assists in six games. Miami Ohio is ranked No. 7 and has a 5-2-1 record.
John Hayden, forward, Yale (NCAA)
Hayden, a freshman, had an assist in each of Yale’s games last week. Yale tied St. Lawrence 3-3 on Friday and defeated Clarkson 6-3 on Saturday. Hayden has two points in four games. Yale is ranked No. 9 and has a 2-1-1 record.
