CHICAGO -- Success doesn’t come cheap.

After winning their second Stanley Cup in four seasons, the Chicago Blackhawks had the biggest ticket price increase in the National Hockey League, according to Team Marketing Report’s annual Fan Cost Index, which was released Thursday.

The average price of a Blackhawks season ticket went up 16 percent to $72.95 for the 2013-14 season. That’s 109 percent more than the average ticket cost for the 2007-08 season, when Rocky Wirtz took over the team after his father Bill passed away. TMR reported the average Blackhawks ticket was $34.88 that season.

The average NHL ticket is $61.62, according to the survey, which is a 2.3 percent increase.

Chicago was one of 21 teams that increased average ticket prices by 1 percent or more. Those tickets do not include premium seats, which are designated by the teams. The Blackhawks’ average premium ticket is $152.65, slightly higher than the league average of $148.90.

It’s certainly not cheap to take a family to see the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks’ Fan Cost Index total -- which is the combined price of four tickets, two cheapest beers and four cheapest soft drinks, four hot dogs, parking, two programs and two adult-sized hats -- is $437.80, the fifth-highest total in hockey. The NHL average is $359.17.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are first in ticket price ($122.20) and FCI ($615.62).
