CHICAGO – The Chicago Blackhawks recalled forward Alex Broadhurst from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL and placed forward Michal Handzus on injured reserve Thursday.

The 20-year-old Broadhurst has 11 points -- four goals and seven assists -- in 16 games this season, his first with the IceHogs. He was drafted by the Blackhawks in the seventh round of the 2011 draft. He is from the Chicago suburb of New Lenox, Ill.

Handzus has been out of the Blackhawks’ lineup since Oct. 24 due to an upper-body injury. He has three points in nine games this season.
