How it happened: Jeremy Morin has been making the most of his opportunity for the Blackhawks as of late. Morin scored the first goal and had the primary assist on another for the Blackhawks on Sunday. The Blues took a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal by Jaden Schwartz in the first period. Morin tied the game at 8:34 of the second period. The Blackhawks went ahead when Morin set up Patrick Sharp for a goal at 19:33 of the second period. The Blackhawks extended their lead to 3-1 with an early third-period goal by Marcus Kruger. Vladimir Sobotka cut the Blackhawks’ lead to one goal with 2:02 left in the third period. The Blackhawks are 3-0-0 despite Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews being out of the lineup the last eight days. Sharp has been a reason for that. He has three goals and two assists in the last five games.
