CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks and WGN-TV announced a three-year extension of television rights on Thursday.

The Blackhawks will remain on WGN-TV through the 2018-19 season. The Blackhawks have been on WGN-TV since the 2008-09 season. The station will continue to televise 20 regular-season games each season.

“WGN-TV is synonymous with Chicago and is the perfect partner to continue to help serve our expanding fan base,” Blackhawks president and CEO John McDonough said in a statement. “From Lloyd Pettit to Pat Foley, WGN-TV has been a highly-valued member of the Blackhawks family.”
