Season highlight: Regin was given consistent playing time in early April and helped the Blackhawks to three consecutive wins from April 3-6. He was a plus-3 during that span.
Season lowlight: Regin was a healthy scratch for 14 of the Blackhawks’ 19 playoff games.
Final grade: C.
Inside the numbers: Regin had a Corsi of better than 50 percent in 11-of-17 regular-season games, according to extraskater.com.
Quotes: “It was really fun to be a part of such a good team and a winning team that I think the whole atmosphere around this organization, how the players treat everything, they expect to win every night, they expect to win the Cup every year,” Regin said after the season. “To be a part of that was really cool. Obviously I would have liked to play more at times, like every player you want to play as much as you can. At times, you probably feel that you should play more. But that’s the way it is, there are a lot of guys that want to play and somebody has to sit out. Sometimes it’s disappointing. You just try to stay positive and work your way back in there.”
What’s next: Regin is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. His agent recently said they hoped to know this week where they stood with the Blackhawks going forward.
