2013-14 cap hit: $6,300,000 | Age: 25 | Season stats: 29 goals, 40 assists, plus-7

Season recap: Kane was at a point-a-game level for the fourth time in his career. His 29 regular season goals were the second most of his career. He continued at that pace in the playoffs and led the Blackhawks with 20 points in 19 games.

Season highlight: Kane recorded a career-high 14-game points streak from Nov. 30-Dec. 28. He had eight goals and 17 assists during that span.

Season lowlight: Kane missed the final 12 regular season games due to a lower-body injury. It was the longest period he missed during his NHL career.

Final grade: A.

Inside the numbers: Kane played with seven different centers this season and had the most success with Andrew Shaw. Kane had seven goals and seven assists while on the ice with Shaw in 5-on-5 situations during the regular season, according to stats.hockeyanalysis.com.

Notes: Kane was the only player in the NHL this season to record two points streak of 10 or more games.

Quotes: "I don't think there's a player in the league that has the puck on his stick, time of possession over the course of a game," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said of Kane after Game 6 of the Western Conference finals. "He sees plays, makes plays. The bigger the stage, he likes that challenge."

What's next: Like Jonathan Toews, Kane is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2014-15 season. The Blackhawks would like to secure both of their franchise players to identical long-term contracts in July.
