CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Calgary Flames 1-0 after the first period at the United Center.
The Hawks' defense picked up where it left off on Thursday as Duncan Keith scored his first goal of the season after a long rebound of a Patrick Sharp shot. Keith has been more active in the offensive zone since returning from a hand injury as have the entire blue-line.
The Hawks had two attempts on the power play to extend the lead but did no damage. Ray Emery was sharp in net for the Hawks stopping all 13 Calgary shots. The Hawks had 13 shots on net as well.
