CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild are tied 1-1 after one period at the United Center.
The Wild scored first off the rush after a faceoff win in their own zone. Devin Setoguchi tallied on a rebound after Marek Zidlicky shot it on net as he entered the Hawks zone. Ray Emery gave up a bad rebound on the play.
The Hawks tied it on an Andrew Shaw goal after a nice shift by him and his wingers, Michael Frolik and Bryan Bickell. That line was arguably the Hawks best trio in the opening period.
The Hawks had the puck on their stick more than their opponent in the opening 20 minutes but only managed the one goal. A later power play chance produced nothing as did a 2-on-1 between Marian Hossa and Dave Bolland.
