CHICAGO—The Chicago Blackhawks trail the St. Louis Blues 3-2 after two periods at the United Center.
The Hawks are within one goal of St. Louis thanks to a second-period tally by Viktor Stalberg after Johnny Oduya was able to keep the puck inside the offensive blue line. He got it to Marcus Kruger who floated it on net for Stalberg to knock in with his skate. A quick video review showed he did not make a kicking motion and the goal stood.
The Hawks got on the board first on an Andrew Brunette tally but St. Louis scored three straight goals in the first period to take a commanding lead. Ray Emery’s night ended after 20 minutes while Corey Crawford pitched a shutout in the second period.
