Hossa's upper body injury 'not bad'
By Brent W. New
DENVER -- Chicago Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa suffered an “upper-body injury” on Monday after he was sent into the boards by Colorado Avalanche defenseman Ryan O'Byrne late in the first period.
The team’s third-leading goal scorer left the game and never returned in the Hawks’ 5-2 win over the Avalanche.
As of Monday night, his status going forward is uncertain, but doesn’t sound serious.
“It’s not bad,” Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. “We’ll see.”
