Hossa suffered an upper-body injury against the Colorado Avalanche on March 18 and has not played since. He’s missed one game and two practices due to the injury. Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said after Sunday’s practice Hossa is unlikely to play against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.
Quenneville said Shaw missed Sunday’s practice with the flu and is questionable for Monday’s game.
Hossa has 13 goals and 10 assists in 28 games this season. Shaw has seven goals and four assists in 30 games.
Quenneville also said forward Patrick Sharp was progressing after suffering an upper-body injury against the Avalanche on March 6. Sharp, who has five goals and 13 assists in 24 games, was expected to miss 3-4 weeks.
“Patrick Sharp has been skating here the past couple of days, more than the last couple of days, but we’re seeing progress,” Quenneville said. “I don’t want to give you a number here, but it won’t be too far away. ... I would say we’re in the wheelhouse.”
