The Chicago Blackhawks assigned forwards Alex Broadhurst, Drew LeBlanc and Mark McNeill and defensemen Mathieu Brisebois, Dillon Fournier and Viktor Svedberg to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs on Friday.

The Blackhawks now have 40 active roster players, including 23 forwards, 13 defensemen and four goaltenders.

The IceHogs open their training camp on Sunday.

The Blackhawks have three remaining preseason games. They play the New York Rangers on Friday at the United Center.

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks recalled 13 players Monday from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.

The players included forwards Drew LeBlanc, Mark McNeill, Phillip Danault, Ryan Hartman, Brad Mills, Terry Broadhurst, Alex Broadhurst, Brandon Mashinter and Garret Ross; defensemen Adam Clendening, Brian Connelly and Mathieu Brisebois; and goaltender Kent Simpson.

Clendening, 21, led the IceHogs with 59 points this season. He had 12 goals, 47 assists and a plus-5 rating in 74 games. He was selected in the second round of the 2011 draft by the Blackhawks.

Alex Broadhurst, 21, was third on the team with 45 points. He had 16 goals, 29 assists and a minus-1 rating in 75 games. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2011 draft by the Blackhawks.

Terry Broadhurst, 25, was fourth on the team with 44 points. He had 16 goals, 28 assists and a plus-10 rating in 73 games. He was signed as a free agent on March 19, 2012.

McNeill, 21, had 18 goals, 19 assists and a minus-12 rating in 76 games. He was selected in the first round of the 2011 draft by the Blackhawks.

Connelly, 27, had three goals, five assists and a minus-12 rating in 16 games for the IceHogs. He was acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 26.

Mashinter, 25, had 14 goals, 14 assists and a minus-8 rating in 47 games for the IceHogs. He was acquired in a trade with the New York Rangers on Dec. 6, 2013.

Ross, 21, had 15 goals, 19 assists and a plus-12 rating in 74 games. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2012 draft by the Blackhawks.

Danault, 21, had six goals, 26 assists and a plus-11 rating in 72 games. He was selected in the first round of the 2011 draft by the Blackhawks.

LeBlanc, 24, had seven goals, 15 assists and a minus-4 rating in 76 games. He was signed as a free agent on April 12, 2013.

Mills, 30, had eight goals, six assists and a minus-5 rating in 28 games for the IceHogs. He also had zero points and a minus-1 rating in three games for the Blackhawks this season. He was signed as a free agent on Oct. 25, 2013.

Brisebois, 22, had two goals, five assists and a minus-1 rating in 13 games for the IceHogs. He was acquired in a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes on March 4.

Hartman, 19, had three goals, four assists and a minus-1 rating in nine games for the IceHogs. He also played in the OHL this season. He was selected in the first round of the 2013 draft by the Blackhawks.

Hawks acquire Rundblad, Brisebois from Coyotes

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired defensemen David Rundblad and Mathieu Brisebois from the Phoenix Coyotes for a second-round pick in the 2014 draft on Tuesday.

Rundblad, 23, will join the Blackhawks, and Brisebois, 21, will report to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.

Rundblad had one assist and a minus-3 rating in 12 games for the Coyotes this season. He also played four games for the Portland Pirates of the AHL this season. He has nine points in 50 career NHL games and is signed through the 2014-15 season. He was originally selected No. 17 overall in the 2009 draft by the St. Louis Blues.

Brisebois had one goal, five assists and a minus-5 rating in 28 games for the Pirates this season. He previously played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and was selected as a finalist for the league’s top defenseman award last season. He was signed by the Coyotes as a free agent in March 2013 and is signed through the 2015-16 season.
