Hawks add three AHL players

The Chicago Blackhawks signed goaltender Scott Darling and forwards Cody Bass and Pierre-Cedric Labrie to one-year contracts on Tuesday.

All three players are expected to play for the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, and add to the organization’s depth.

The 25-year-old Darling, who is from Lemont, Ill., was 13-6-2 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage for the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL last season. He ranked second in the league with six shutouts. He was originally selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the sixth round of the 2007 draft.

Bass, 27, had eight goals and 10 assists in 58 games for the Springfield Falcons of the AHL last season. He played in one game for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was originally selected by the Ottawa Senators in the fourth round in the 2005 draft.

Labrie, 27, had two goals and four assists in 38 games with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL last season. He also played 13 games for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
