Prospect watch: 5 players to Frozen Four

Here's a look at how some of the Chicago Blackhawks' prospects are doing throughout the world:

Kevin Hayes, forward, Boston College (NCAA), drafted 1st round in 2010: The 21-year-old Hayes, a senior, is one of five Blackhawks prospects to advance to the Frozen Four. He had two goals, two assists, seven shots on goal and a plus-five rating in the Eagles' 6-2 win over Denver in the opening game on Saturday and had a goal, two assists, five shots on goal and a plus-two rating in their 4-3 win over UMass Lowell on Sunday. He has 27 goals, 36 assists and a plus-33 rating in 39 games this season. Boston College plays Union on April 10.

Chris Calnan, forward, Boston College (NCAA), drafted 3rd round in 2012: The 19-year-old Calnan, a freshman, had two shots on goals and a zero-rating in the two regional games. He has four goals and eight assists in 36 games this season.

Justin Holl, defenseman, Minnesota (NCAA), drafted 2nd round in 2010: The 22-year-old Holl, a senior, had an assist, one shot on goal, one block and a plus-one rating in the Gophers' 7-3 win over Robert Morris on Saturday and an assist, one shot on goal, two blocks and a plus-two rating in a 4-0 win over St. Cloud State on Sunday. He has zero goals, 12 assists, 57 blocks and a plus-10 rating in 37 games this season. Minnesota plays North Dakota on April 10.

Nick Mattson, defenseman, North Dakota, drafted 6th round in 2010: The 22-year-old Mattson, a junior, had two blocks in North Dakota's 5-2 win over the Wisconsin on Friday and two assists and two blocks in a 2-1 double-overtime win over Ferris State on Saturday. He has four goals, 19 assists and a plus-nine rating in 39 games this season. North Dakota plays Minnesota in the semifinals.

Prospect watch: Eight in NCAA tourney

Here’s a look at how some of the Chicago Blackhawks' prospects are doing throughout the world:

Stephen Johns, defenseman, Notre Dame (NCAA), drafted second round in 2010: The 21-year-old Johns, a senior, will be one of eight Blackhawks prospects to play in the NCAA tournament. He has eight goals, 12 assists, 61 blocks and a plus-seven rating in 39 games this season. The Irish play St. Cloud State in the tournament on Saturday.

Vince Hinostroza, forward, Notre Dame (NCAA), drafted sixth round in 2012: The 19-year-old Hinostroza, a freshman, has eight goals and 24 assists in 33 games heading into the NCAA tournament. He’s second on Notre Dame with 32 points.

Justin Holl, defenseman, Minnesota (NCAA), drafted second round in 2010: The 22-year-old Holl, a senior, has zero goals, 10 assists, 54 blocks and a plus-seven rating in 35 games this season. Minnesota plays Robert Morris in the tournament on Saturday.

Prospect Watch: Morin's streak halted

Here’s a look at how some of the Chicago Blackhawks' prospects are doing throughout the world:

Jeremy Morin, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL), acquired via trade in 2010: The 22-year-old Morin had his points streak snapped at 13 games on Friday. He didn’t record a point in the IceHogs’ 8-3 loss to the Milwaukee Admirals. He had 11 goals and nine assists during the streak. He got back to his production with an assist on Saturday. He has 22 goals, 23 assists and a plus-nine rating in 46 games this season.

Ryan Hartman, forward, Plymouth Whalers (OHL), drafted first round in 2013: The 19-year-old Hartman has scored in three of his last four games. He had a goal and an assist in the Whalers’ 3-1 win over the Saginaw Spirit on Sunday. He has three goals and two assists in four games in March. He has 25 goals, 26 assists and a minus-13 rating in 50 games this season.

Teuvo Teravainen, forward, Jokerit (Finland), drafted first round in 2012: The 19-year-old Teravainen scored a goal in a 3-2 loss on Wednesday and had an assist in a 4-3 win on Thursday. He has nine goals and 34 assists in 47 games. He is tied for sixth in the Liiga with 43 points.

Prospect watch: Morin extends streak to 10

Here’s a look at how some of the Chicago Blackhawks prospects are doing throughout the world:

Jeremy Morin, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL), acquired via trade in 2010: The 22-year-old Morin is playing some of the best hockey of his career. He’s on a 10-game points streak, which is tied for fifth longest in the AHL this season. He has nine goals and eight assists during the streak. He had two goals and eight shots on goal in the IceHogs’ 4-1 win over the Iowa Wild on Tuesday. He has 20 goals, 21 assists and a plus-eight rating in 41 games in the AHL this season.

Brandon Pirri, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL), drafted second round in 2009: The 22-year-old Pirri isn’t too far behind Morin as of late. Pirri is on a seven-game points streak and has had six goals and four assists during that stretch. He has 10 goals, 13 assists and a minus-three rating in 24 games for the IceHogs this season.

Jeremy Morin, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL), acquired via trade in 2010: The 22-year-old Morin is the organization’s hottest prospect right now. He has six goals and seven assists in seven games in February. He had two goals and four assists in the IceHogs’ three games last weekend. He has 17 goals and 20 assists in 38 games this season.

Brandon Pirri, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL), drafted second round in 2009: The 22-year-old Pirri had two goals in the IceHogs’ 4-2 win over the Iowa Wild on Sunday and is on a four-game points streak. He has four goals and two assists during the streak. He has eight goals and 11 assists in 21 games for the IceHogs this season.

Here’s a look at how some of the Chicago Blackhawks prospects are doing throughout the world:

Brandon Pirri, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL), drafted second round in 2009: The 22-year-old Pirri was named the MVP of the AHL All-Star Game Classic after having two goals and an assist in a 7-2 win over Färjestad BK on Wednesday. He also has one goal and one assist in two games for the IceHogs since being reassigned from the Blackhawks last week.

Jeremy Morin, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL), acquired via trade in 2010: The 22-year-old Morin recorded his first professional hat track in the IceHogs’ 8-3 win over the Iowa Wild on Saturday. He also added an assist in the victory. He has six goals and three assists in his last six games. He had 15 goals and 16 assists in 35 games this season.

Ryan Hartman, forward, Plymouth Whalers (OHL), drafted first round in 2013: The 19-year-old Hartman is on a five-game points streak. He has six goals and one assist during the streak. He’s come on again after having just three points in his previous eight games. He has 19 goals, 17 assists, and a minus-16 rating in 38 games this season.

Teuvo Teravainen, forward, Jokerit (Finland), drafted first round in 2012: The 19-year-old Teravainen pushed his points streak to 11 games with an assist in Jokerit’s 4-2 loss to Porin Assat on Tuesday. He has 20 points during the streak and leads Jokerit with 37 points, which includes five goals and 32 assists, in 40 games this season.
