DEERFIELD, Ill. – While not giving the official word, it seemed clear at Saturday’s shootaround that the Derrick Rose watch will continue and the former MVP will not be making his season debut just yet.

Asked twice for a Rose update, head coach Tom Thibodeau was curt.

“The same,” Thibodeau said.

In fact, of the two Rose questions Thibodeau was asked regarding the point guard's status, he answered with all of five words.

By saying his status was “the same” it was taken to mean that Rose was still improving and not yet ready to return to the court. Rose participated in Saturday afternoon’s shootaround at the Berto Center and stuck around afterward to go through extra shooting drills.

The Bulls have just 15 games remaining in the regular season before heading into the playoffs at the latter end of April. Of those 15 games, the Bulls will play seven at the United Center, including Saturday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers.
